Marathon Training- Days 8 and 9

Day 8 (Sunday July 1)

breakfast- large banana, Pure bar

snack 1- cherries

lunch- barley/lentil/fava dish and “ants on a log”

snack 2- Hammer bar

dinner- kale/zucchini/brown rice dish

dessert (first time in a week!  may have gone a lot overboard!)- slice of German chocolate cake and a icing-filled chocolate chip sandwich cookie.  Oh and a chocolate-dipped peanut butter ball.  Ooops.

workout-  weights routine and 22 minute ride on the spinning bike

Day 9 (Monday July 2)

breakfast- cereal with soy yogurt and blueberries

lunch- leftover barley/lentil/fava dish

dinner- steamed asparagus and a black-eyed pea/collard green dish

snack 1- kettle corn

If you’ve been reading these things, you may have noticed that I tend to eat the same things for several days in a row.  This is because I live alone and so when I cook I typically end up with 4-6 portions of something.  Luckily I like leftovers.
